Yes you lot can only not the Starter Edition. It becomes read only if you lot do not renew. Then you demand Deluxe or college. in Deluxe if y'all practise not renew you can still enter transactions manually but about 25% of your screen is taken up with a reminder to renew.

How is it this company gets away with leaving out that a non-removable renewal banner clutters the application if you choose not to renew the subscription? When I called last year to purchase Quicken and specifically asked about continuing Quicken Palatial without renewing, I was clearly told that I would not be able to download transactions anymore, only that otherwise the app would be the same. Clearly not!

@BW_38, if you can discover a copy of Quicken 2016 or 2017, you can open your data file with either and work manually.

It tells me what to do about it and THEN SHUTS DOWN. I followed the instructions by re-installing Quicken so installing a patch that pre-dates the subscription expiration date. Yet, when I exercise that, I even so get the same message and it shuts down again.

This violates Quicken's information access promise! I cannot apply the program at all without ownership the subscription. Also, at that place is no support when the subscription expires.

As a person who has been using Quicken since the 1980s, I am not happy!

Has anyone else experienced this? If and so, did you find a way to make it piece of work again?

If you accept the older versions of Quicken, similar Quicken 2016 or Quicken 2017, those older versions of Quicken volition read and piece of work with the Quicken Data Files from the Subscription program. Even so, you lot will need to do a make clean install of those programs.

about a twelvemonth ago i upgraded from Quicken 2007 for Mac to Quicken Mac subscription Version six.2.1 Deluxe (not sure if that is 2017, eighteen, 19, twenty or what). they said that my online banking via Quicken would be disabled. I said that'southward fine, I never bank online with quicken, or merchandise stocks or annihilation like that. What I do, is download my transactions into a .qfx file from my bank's website, and then import them into quicken, without existence online with Quicken at all---I'1000 but importing the .qfx file from my hard bulldoze into quicken. They said that would be possible with an expired program, just existence online with the bank in quicken is what would be disabled after expiration.

so 10 days ago it expired, and now i notice that quicken deluxe refuses to import these .qfx files at all because the program is expired. It says: "this feature is non available because your deluxe membership has expired. To import a connected file your membership needs to exist renewed"

Not what I was expecting at all---since i'm not trying to connect thru my depository financial institution online at all, i'1000 just trying to import a file. So, my question is, can everyone shed whatever low-cal on this? Is there a workaround, or different way to import those transactions without subscribing? Or does "being able to utilize Quicken without re-subscribing" actually hateful going back to entering all transactions manually? :

p.s. if i exercise bite the bullet and re-subscribe, quicken has offered me the chance of downgrading to quicken basic at a lower cost. which i'm considering doing since i never use the online banking/investing tools in the higher versions. what say you about the pro's and con'southward of doing that?

I am a long time Quicken 2007 user (downloading QIF) with needs similar to yours, but I am thinking of getting either a non-subscription version of Quicken off eBay or a new version that will work with QFX downloads on a non-subscription ground.

billh123 -- I find exactly the same trouble. I downloaded the csv file from my banking concern into a spreadsheet and judge I will either manually enter them into Quicken or just put the full in a single quicken transaction and categorize seperately in excel.
